Fathers' Day

Fathers' Day was first celebrated in the US in 1910 when a lady called Sonora Dodd decided that fathers should be shown the same appreciation as mothers Dads are special, they tickle us and make us laugh, protect and look after us, lecture and educate us. There is no way we will ever really thank Dad for everything he has done, all the days he drove us around, fixed our bikes, and watched us play sports. However, Fathers Day may be a great time to say "I love you Dad" and show him that you simply do remember and appreciate it. Fathers' Day was often seen as less important than Mother’s Day, but the role of the father in family life is as deserving as our mothers. Fathers are no longer the person of the family who goes out to work and rarely spends any time with their children. Father's Day falls on 20th June this year, so how about using this day to tell your Dad what a man he is? Fathers Day gifts are all part of the equation. But sometimes suddenly, it's Father's Day and you have nothing... not even an excuse. Well, NOT THIS YEAR! At least this year, you can give your Father something he'll remember. Forever. Fathers' Day is a chance to thank your father for each and everything he has done for you. Giving him a card or a gift may be a great way of doing this, giving him breakfast in bed can be a way of getting him to relax. Let him take the time off and treat himself for once. For many people, Fathers' Day is an important chance to set aside some time from their busy schedule to spend with their father. Due to this pandemic, you cannot take him out for the day but you can have a special meal together. Not everyone can make it on the day, but sending a card or calling him up can let him know that you simply are thinking of him. The best thing which a father can receive is something that shows how much care and thought you have put into choosing it. A personal gift that appeals to his particular likes and interests will set out the purpose of Fathers' Day.
